Social media, once the bastion of teenagers and college students, has grown up. Partially because it has gotten better and more encompassing in the lives of those who use it, and partially because those teenagers and college students have grown up themselves and are now older.
This “Smart Phone Generation” rarely uses a desktop computer to search the Internet. They don’t have phones with dial tones, and they are more comfortable interacting over text message and social media than actually talking to someone. They are also your next generation of customers.
If you do not engage them on their level, then they will go to your competitor who will.
